German pedagogues-philanthropists and the beginning of the Serbian pedagogy
Nemački pedagozi-filantropi i početak srpske pedagogije
Abstract
Having in mind that the scholarly literature has not paid appropriate attention to the German philanthropist pedagogy, this paper, in the context of intellectual and social history of the 18th century, presents the distinct conceptions of German pedagogists-philanthropists as well as the emergence of philanthropines, new experimental educational institutions being a direct expression of the reform pedagogy in the period of Enlightenment. Conceived as "workshops of philanthropy," the intention in the philanthropines was to create, on the grounds of reformed educational paradigm, a new kind of personality that would enable the overall material and intellectual progress. The influence of the pedagogues-philanthropists on the emergence of the Serbian pedagogical thought in the 19th century is indicated too.
Sažetak
Imajući u vidu da u dosadašnjoj literaturi nije posvećivana odgovarajuća pažnja nemačkoj filantropskoj pedagogiji, u radu se, u kontekstu intelektualne i društvene istorije 18. veka, prikazuju karakteristična shvatanja nemačkih pedagoga-filantropa kao i pojava filantropina, novih ekperimentalnih obrazovnih institucija koje su predstavljale neposredni izraz reformski usmerene pedagogije u razdobolju prosvetiteljstva. Zamišljene kao "radionice čovekoljublja" filantropine su nastojale da na temelju reformisane vaspitno-obrazovne paradigme stvore novi tip ličnosti što bi omogućilo sveopšti materijalni ali i duhovni napredak čovečanstva. U radu je naznačen i uticaj pedagoga-filantropa na konstituisanje srpske pedagoške misli u 19. veku.
