Gender aspects of poverty

Abstract
Research on poverty indicate that women are more at risk to poverty . Women far different experience poverty than men. Higher risk of poverty among women is the result of the unequal status of women in the labor market, lower wages and less opportunities for improvement in career. Greater responsibility of women in relation to obligations regarding care of children and adults who are unable to care for themselves, exposing women to greater risk of poverty . Depending on the appearance of women than men, creating an ideological framework that can increase the chances of poverty among women. This paper aims to highlight the socio -cultural context of the problem of poverty from a gender point of view. To this end, this paper will focus on the deeply rooted stereotypes and prejudices in relation to the division of labor by gender, as one of the key factors contributing to women are at greater risk of impoverishment.
