Računar kao didaktička igračka - upotreba računara u predškolskom vaspitno-obrazovnom radu
Computer as a didactic toy: Computers' use in preschool education

Projekat: Nastava i učenje: problemi, ciljevi i perspektive (MPNTR - 179026)
Abstract
ICT technology is used to facilitate teaching and learning in the preschool educational program. Although some pedagogues and psychologists have expressed concern about the usefulness of computer usage at this children age, numerous studies point out the positive effects of the use of IT on the children's cognitive aspects, as well as on children's social and emotional development. Appropriate educational software can enhance the development of children's symbolic thinking. Children can also improve decision-making abilities by using educational software. The use of computers can facilitate social and emotional development of a child, because developmentally appropriate computer activities may engage a child in cooperative learning, through sharing ideas and solving problems in the group. Focused on the successful engagement, IT activity can increase self-esteem of children. In contrast to the teaching activities in schools, educational activities with preschool children are being organized through game, so all this gives a reason more for the computer to find its place in game and learning as a modern didactic toy.
