Agricultural-industrial exhibition in Pančevo 1905 as a front of contemporary tourist events
Sažetak
Rad se bavi analizom i značajem održavanja jedne od prvih izložbi na području današnje Vojvodine, poljoprivredno-industrijskom izložbom u Pančevu, koja je održana 1905. godine. Njen značaj bio je višestruk sa ekonomskog, kulturnog i umetničkog aspekta, kako za domaće stanovništvo, tako i za posetioce kojih je bilo oko 100.000. Temeljenost u organizaciji događaja podrazumevala je obnovu kompletne infrastrukture grada, izgradnju saobraćajnica, uvođenje vanrednih brodskih polazaka, podizanje smeštajnih kapaciteta za veliki broj domaćih i međunarodnih posetilaca, izgradnju parnog kupatila, dobar marketing, ali i prateće animativne sadržaje poput izvođenja predstava, koncerata, priredbi, konjskih trka, takmičenja. Izložbe su preteče današnjih manifestacija, poslovnih i turističkih događaja i zato ih je važno analizirati kao doprinos razvoju poslovnog i manifestacionog turizma na našim prostorima.
Abstract
The agricultural-industrial exhibition in Pancevo in 1905 was a great success. The rest was noted that there were guests from all sides, even from Washington. All exhibitors were pleased, and the City made good money. The number of guests who came from Belgrade was about 19.000, which was then the number of inhabitants in all of Pancevo. The exhibition went beyond the local significance and in terms of its characteristics, the number of visitors, exhibitors, trade, the person in charge in front of each pavilion that provided information on the products, was most similar to today's fair. Exceptional organization, renovation of the existing and construction of new infrastructure of the city, introduction of new steam and railway departures to Pancevo and from Pancevo to larger centres, represented a great overture for the success of this great and significant event. As part of the preparation for the exhibition, the beginnings of the development of marketing in the organization of events, such as printing photographs and postcards from the exhibition, tickets, invitations, advertisements and cancelling events in newspapers, are observed. Supplementary contents complemented by exhibitions such as performances, horse races, concerts, fireworks, would today have the character of accompanying contents of any kind of business event, not only here but in the world. Considering the organization of such an event that took place over 100 years ago, we should consider ways of organizing most business and event events in our country, which should form the backbone of tourism development and reflect the progress and civilization maturity of people, with the aim of overcoming their fair character and amateur organization. Serbia has comparative (comparative) competitive advantages (natural conditions, resources and resources, etc.) for the dynamic, long-term and priority development of agricultural production and events that are in accordance with it. Creativity is an engine of economic growth and a key strategic resource for increasing competitiveness in a knowledge-based economy, just like exhibitions in the past.
