Possible approach to the analysis of the operational availability of ordnance materiel

Abstract
The operational availability of ordnance materiel is considered from the aspect of time and quantity, it's conditions and consequences are connected with production, application, users and the systems of echelonment supply and maintenance during life time. The influence of the maintenance system on the operational availability is analyzed as well as the influence of quality parameters. Because of its specific nature, materiel operational availability is discussed on the level of particular items, on the level of materiel types and on the level of systems (both in war and peace conditions) in which materiel is used. The dependence of artillery ammunition expenditure upon the built-in reliability has been illustrated by on example as well as the operational availability as a possible evaluation of the supply system during a particular system functioning in combat actions.
