Afirmacija islamskih umetnica na primeru Širin Nešat i Mone Hatum

Sažetak
Uloga Žene u islamskim zemljama umnogome se razlikuje od poimanja Žene na evropskom području, jer je religijski svetonazor vekovima bio dominirajući toliko da je podredio sebi sve ostale sfere društva. Borba za ravnopravnost, koja se vodi već decenijama u tzv. Zapadnom svetu, u islamskim zemljama je tek na začetku. Imajući to u vidu, nije začuđujuće što je prikazivanje Žene i svega u vezi sa njom u umetnosti i književnosti islamskih zemalja ograničeno u odnosu na Zapad. Islam je veoma striktna religija i zabranjuje prikazivanje predmeta koji vode ka fetišizmu, kao što su ljudski likovi i kultne slike, jer to predstavlja ugrožavanje stvaralačke moći Alaha. Islamske žene u umetnosti u prošlosti nisu imale mogućnosti da se afirmišu, jer i pored toga što Islam ne podržava "diskriminaciju" između muškarca i žene, u isto vreme ne brani ni ideju o "jednakosti". Ipak, postmoderno doba donosi preporod, te one danas konačno uživaju svoja prava i izuzetno su zastupljene na svetskoj umetničkoj sceni. Prikazujući istorijske teme, umetnice na poseban način emituju emotivne poruke o stradanju koje su preživeli pojedini pripadnici islamske vere, a pored toga definišu i preispituju patrijarhat, feminizam i fundamentalizam kroz svoja dela. Teme stradanja se najbolje oslikavaju u radu dve islamske žene, Širin Nešat (Shirin Neshat) i Mone Hatum (Mona Hatoum), stoga će se u ovom radu govoriti njihovom stvaralaštvu i načinu na koji se afirmišu muslimanke u modernom dobu kroz istorijsko-umetnički i sociološki pristup.
