Abstract
As in adutls, general anesthesia in pediatrics can be divided in inhalation (VIMA), intravenous (TIVA,TCI), balanced anesthesia, and combination of general anesthesia plus regional anesthesia. Specificity of general anesthesia in pediatric patients is due to developmental changes during childhood. Regarding the fact that in 90% cases cardiac arrest in children is due to respiratory pathology, it is unerstandable why respiratory physiology and pathology is of great importance for anesthesiologist.
