Abstract
Cardiopulmonary exercise test is reproducible, simple and accurate non-invasive method that provides additional useful information to standard exercise testing as an integral part of a growing number of recommendations and guidelines. Aerobic functional capacity can be estimated from expiratory gass analysis, in patients with unexplained exertional dyspnea, and in determination of diagnosis and prognosis for various groups of patients with heart, lung and muscle diseases. The choice of parameters depends on the type of disease we studied from stratification of heart failure to prescription of rehabilitation and participation in competitive sports.
