Razvoj mehanike i inženjerskog dizajna i teorije mašine od perioda renesanse

Sažetak
Istorija nauke i mehanike suočava se sa dva uzajamno povezana problema: kritičkom akumulacijom i sistematizacijom istorijskih informacija o predmetu istraživanja i odnosom između događaja i zakonitosti njihovog razvoja. U antičko doba, počev od 5. veka p.n.e. do početka srednjeg veka, prirodna filozofija je uticala na razvoj mehanike i inženjerstva kao nauke, o čemu je bilo reči u prethodnom autorovom radu. Brz razvoj mehanike kao nauke otpočeo je u 16. i 17. veku. Dizajn mašina kao primenjene nauke se u velikoj meri oslanjao na mehaniku. Od početka 19. veka mehanika je postajala teorijska osnova sve većeg broja tehničkih disciplina koje su bile u neposrednoj vezi sa razvojem industrije, razradom tehnološki novih procesnih mašina i industrijskih objekata. U radu je prikazana kratka istorija razvoja teorije mašina i mehanizama, kao i ličnosti i akademske institucije koje su izvršile uticaj na teoriju mašina i mehanizama od srednjeg veka do nama bliske prošlosti.
