Influence of the third technological revolution on employment in agriculture and industry
Zavod za društveno planiranje, Niš
Abstract
The central point of the paper consists in an attempt to clear up the question whether a new wave of revolutionary technological changes can help in establishing an optimal model for the solving of two questions strategically significant for future development: production of (healthy) food and (un)employment. Is it possible that the earlier philosophy of development with the earlier concept of development can solve this question? Certainly not. The Third Technological Revolution with respect to employment in agriculture and industry opens new horizons, new dimensions which will certainly help in alleviating the blows of the multiple crisis in these two sections. Their main levers in all this will be information technologies and bio-technology based on genetic engineering. These trends will be certainly accompanied with an adequate transformation of qualified staff, especially in the field of developing new professions.
