Sažetak
Cilj ovog rada je da analizira i uporedi napredak u procesu tranzicije i priliv stranih direktnih investicija (SDI) u zemlje jugoistočne Evrope i Kavkaza. Mada postoje značajne razlike između ova dva regiona, karakteriše ih i niz sličnosti, uključujući njihovu političku i ekonomsku nestabilnost koja je snažno uticala na proces tranzicije i priliv SDI. Oba regiona su gotovo u potpunosti privela kraju inicijalnu fazu tranzicije i postigla izvestan stepen makroekonomske stabilnosti, ali još uvek zaostaju kada su u pitanju institucionalne reforme i politička stabilnost, koji predstavljaju važne preduslove za razvoj privatnog sektora, dugoročni razvoj i priliv SDI. Usporen napredak u pogledu ovih reformi bi negativno uticao na ekonomski oporavak i privlačenje SDI u zemlje ova dva regiona.
