Istraživanje snova traumatizovanih
Research of the dreams of the traumatized subjects
Abstract
The sample of 70 patients hospitalized due to severe physical injuries (26 injured in the war and 44 in the peacetime) who were in the experimental group, and 105 subjects without any physical injuries (out of them, 45 with no accidental experience and 60 without any life-long accidents) in the healthy controls, were tested by the following instruments: Impact of Events Scale, PTSS-10 scales, Short Aysenck personality inventory, Late effect of accidental injury questionnaire, General Health Questionnaire (GHQ-60) and two questionnaires for general test of disaster effects. The following statistical procedures were used: ANOVA, (2 test, discrimination analysis and linear correlation. 25% of the subjects did not answer questions about dreams, and 15% claimed they didn't dream at all. In the group of the somatic traumatized subjects in war and peace, there were significantly more dreams about the war and the old homeland, and significantly more dreams with negative emotions. The negative emotion was present more in dreams of women and single subjects. In somatic traumatized there were also less dreams with collective symbols. The dreaming traumas, war and old homeland correlated negative with the general neuroticism, and with the PTSD-symptoms. The general neuroticism correlated negatively with the series of dreams. The obtained results were compared to the similar studies' results of other authors.
