Kačački pokret na Kosovu i Metohiji 1922-1924
The Kachak movement in Kosovo and Metohija from 1922-1924
Abstract
The widespread Kachak Movement in Kosovo and Metohija in the time period of 1922-1924 endeavored to reorganize its devastated organization. The leaders of the movement - Bajram Curi and Hasan Priština were struggling to gather their political supporters around the project of the Greater Albania. That was not easy because at the time, they faced the tough reaction of official Yugoslav army and police. Even in Albania the local government tried to keep under control the movement. For that reason, the activities of the supporters of the Greater-Albanian idea were sporadic and not synchronized within the territory of Kosovo and Metohija throughout the period. The most dangerous were the activities of Azem Bejta group from Drenica region. Bejta was connected with the Kachak forces from both Albania and Yugoslavia, and his death in 1924 the movement weakened, but the individual activities continued.
