Post-Yugoslav literature, female authors in focus
Univerzitet u Tuzli, Filozofski fakultet, Federacija BiH
Abstract
This paper discusses the postYugoslav literature, but it also deals with problems and positive examples on this literary scene. The problem of the double marginalization of female authors is in the centre of this paper, with a special focus on the novels Ravnoteža (Balance) by Svetlana Slapšak and Satovi u majčinoj sobi (Clocks in Mother's Room) by Tanja Stupar Trifunović. The paper endeavours to point out that both of these novels are of significant importance to the postYugoslav literary scene but also that, theme, style, and formwise, they belong to a market much larger than that of the former Yugoslav countries.
