Company represents a live organism which goes through its lifetime like a human. Under the lifetime of company the beginning history and eventual disappearance and withdrawal from the market is understood. Some companies can have a very short lifetime, while others may last longer depending on one of the most important phases - company development. This paper is dedicated to the above mentioned subject where we tried to treat the essence of development and growth of the company in several phases. Management of every company has to have clear and defined developing policy of the company. If the rules and the way of determining of this policy are easy and simple, we would have a large number of successful and profitable companies, however in practice it is difficult to define the ideal model of a developing policy of the company, because all internal and external factors cannot be always predicted. In this paper the basic elements, developing process of a company, its characteristics and phases are described. As investments represent the condition for realization of the development, investment policy is also the subject of this analysis.
