IT functioning in improving the quality of initial mathematics teaching

Information technology finds its place in the teaching process an important factor of the social progress. Initial Mathematics teaching makes the basis for the whole Mathematics education and therefore understanding and adopting abstract mathematical contents represent the peak of mathematical education expressing itself in development of ability of solving mathematical problems and different tasks, and also mathematical culture of students. Many mathematical tasks can be more successfully explained and analysed by application of the contemporary information technology. If we know that the analysis precedes the process of abstraction, then, the information technology is very applicable in the initial teaching and learning of mathematics, because it trains students to analyse by themselves, to synthesize, abstract and systemitse the presented terms. In this process, organizational abilities of teachers are particularly significant. For the purpose of using information technology, either in the function of quality, it is necessary in initial education of teachers to ensure development of competencies which guarantee its foundational application. This is why we have analysed the concept of classical and modern teaching mathematics in the paper, through application of information technology stressing the significance of improving its quality. We have done the qualitative research in two target group: students completing the final year at the Faculty of Education, studying group for primary school teachers and practicing teachers in the initial teaching Mathematics.
