Sažetak
Kao bazična komponenta socijalnih odnosa i jedan od ključnih lekovitih faktora psihoterapije empatija je privukla veliku pažnju unutar različitih oblasti psihologije, kao što su različite teorije ličnosti, psihoterapijske škole, socijalna i razvojna psihologija itd. Obzirom na ovako široku rasprostranjenost, ne čudi mnoštvo nesuglasica koje su se javile u načinu definisanja ovog pojma. Najvažnije nesuglasice tiču se pitanja koliki je udeo emocionalne rezonance, a koliki kognitivnih procesa i zaključivanja mogućnosti da se empatiše sa nesvesnim iskustvima, povezanosti sa pozitivnim osećanjima i prosocijalnim i altruističkim ponašanjem itd. Preispitivanjem najvažnijih doprinosa pokušali smo da dođemo do jasnijeg razumevanja empatije. U skladu sa iznetim argumentima ponudili smo, dalje, definiciju ovog važnog, ali često pogrešno shvaćenog pojma.
