Application of different types of sugarbeet inoculation

Abstract
In the paper, the effect of different ways of inoculation of sugarbeet with Azotobacter on the production features of sugarbeet has been tested. Three varieties of sugarbeet were included in the tests: Sara, Lara and Drena in the region of Sombor, during 2004 and 2005. Three strains of Azotobacter chroococcum (5, 8, 14) isolated from rhizosphere of sugarbeet were used as macrobiological fertilizer. The mentioned strains were chosen because they demonstrated the best association with the tested varieties of sugarbeet in former testing. There were three variants: the first- control, without adding the mixture of strains. The second was applying the liquid culture of the strains mixture on the seed before sowing, and the third one the mixture in the soil with simultaneous incorporation. In both years, a positive effect of Azotobacter chroococcum was noticed on root yield and sugar content with all three varieties. In average for both years, the biggest percentage of root yield growth, seed treatment showed sort Drena with 5%, while on the variant of soil treatment the biggest percentage of root yield growth had Sara sort 7,2%. The biggest percentage of sugar content growth had Sara sort 0,93% in the seed treatment and in the soil treatment Lara sort 0,26%. Usage of Azotobacter enlarged yield of polarizational sugar at all three varieties in both years of examinations, and the biggest growth had Sara sort 6,57% in the soil treatment variants. The biggest percentage of growth of the crystal sugar had Sara sort in the soil treatment variants which was 5,25% in comparison to the control variants. As a result of the positive effect of Azotobacter chroococcum on root yield and sugar content, the crystal sugar yield has been high significantly increased in comparison to the control.
