Sažetak
U radu se prikazuju i analiziraju osnovni stavovi teorije ekološke modernizacije kao jednog od vodećih socioloških stanovišta u proučavanju prirodnih mogućnosti i društvenih potreba. Prema ovoj teoriji ekologija i ekonomija nisu suprotstavljene, a superindustrijalizacijom je moguće obezbediti dalji razvoj savremenih društava. Pored promena u sferi proizvodnje, ekološka modernizacija podrazumeva i promene sektorske strukture privrede, promene u društvenim institucijama i u ekološkoj politici. U radu se osnovni stavovi teorije ekološke modernizacije upoređuju sa stavovima ostalih vodećih stanovišta o socijalnoekološkim problemima (Rimski klub, održivi razvoj, Bekovo rizično društvo).
